About Religious Studies

One Department. Two Majors.

Our Religious Studies Major will help you think critically about the Christian faith as it relates to yourself, your Biblical and theological traditions, and the way in which you relate to others in a faith-based setting. The classes are both academically rigorous and practically relevant, preparing students for further religious studies.

>95%

More than 95% of our religion majors who have decided to pursue further theological training have been accepted into seminary.

Double

Because the religion major is one of the smaller majors on campus, many of our students elect to double-major in other departments, such as history, philosophy, psychology, or sociology.

Batman

Along with classes in Bible, Theology, Christian Heritage, and World Religions, Dr. Terry Clark regularly teaches an innovative class on Religion and Popular Culture, an area in which he has published extensively.

Program Requirements

30 hours for major; 18 hours for minor
