The Professional Spanish major is a unique opportunity!  Georgetown College is the only college in the region that offers this major. 

Practical

The major was designed with students in mind. Students in other majors who need to learn practical skills associated with Spanish language and culture can take courses like Translation and Interpretation, Spanish for the Professions, and Business Spanish.

Essential

The Professional Spanish major is a great opportunity for students who wish to develop language skills for almost any professional field and be more competitive on the job market.

Program Requirements

The Professional Spanish (corollary) major is only offered as a second major. Twenty-four hours required, including CLC 319 Foundations in Culture and 21 hours in Spanish above SPA 102/115 to include the following: SPA 230, 235, SPA 355 Spanish for the Professions, SPA 357 Business Spanish, SPA 314 Latino Civilization and Culture, SPA 353 Introduction to Translation and Interpretation; Internship (WLN 360) is strongly recommended and will count toward the major.
